Indiana rural carrier gets probation for mail theft

BEDFORD — The Mitchell mail carrier who was charged with taking money from customers’ mailboxes last year received one year of probation for her crimes.

Beth Dumond, 53, Williams, was scheduled to be in Superior Court I for a change of plea hearing Tuesday. In August, she was facing preliminary charges of theft, a Level 6 felony; official misconduct, Level 6 felony and resisting law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.
