Local Postal Workers See No Savings With Plan

LAKELAND | Local postal officials don’t know the effect on them if Saturday first-class mail delivery ends, but employee representatives say it wouldn’t necessarily save money.

It would reduce the number of workers but not the workload, said Don Southern of Winter Haven, vice president of the Florida Association of Letter Carriers.
