HASTINGS, Neb. — Online shopping has become very popular throughout this pandemic as people order what they need or want while stuck at home.
This has caused an increased number of shipments and packages for delivery companies.
USPS compares the increased package load similar to what they see around the holidays.
“Obviously the package volumes have increased, massively. It’s like Christmas. People are at home doing what they should, shopping online so thank you very much,” said USPS mail carrier Sandy Krueger.
Strategic Communications Specialist Mark Inglett said they have seen about a 40% increase of packages than they normally do this time of year.
