NY postal worker threatened by man with knife

Cortlandt, New York – On July 26, 2019, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Charles Coles, age 54, of Cortlandt, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Menacing in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to the Mohegan Lake Post Office on East Main Street in the town of Cortlandt for a report of a man with a knife. Investigation found Coles used a pocket knife to threaten a postal worker in the parking lot.

Coles was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court, and remanded by the Honorable Judge McCarthy to the Westchester County Jail without bail. Coles was next scheduled to appear before the Court on July 29, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.
