Three young men are behind bars after blowing up mailboxes off Paradise Lane in Bonita Springs, and they’re all facing felony charges because of how the explosive devices were made.
They didn’t use gunpowder. Instead, it was a mix of chemicals.”The officers were saying it was like a chlorine and some other mixture, rubbing alcohol, and they put it into an empty plastic Powerade container,” said William LeCroix. “They have no idea when it’s going to go off.”
Allen Demler, Hunter Bates and Alexander Dovi were arrested, and each could face federal charges if inspectors from the U.S. Postal Service get involved. As it stands, the three are due back in court on May 2.
“My youngest child is 7, and he sometimes gets the mail for us,” said Mike Galdine, “so that does concern me.”
