As we told you last week, Apple has quietly killed its “Cards” iPhone app, which allowed users to create individual, professionally printed greeting cards that would then be mailed directly to the recipient.
There is an alternative though- an iPad app called Felt, which allows the user to actually hand write the card and envelope, using one of a variety of card styles.
The obvious drawback is the inability to insert photographs- but the hand written feature is a nice touch, and your cards are printed and mailed directly to your recipient.
Here’s a video demonstrating the app, and the App Store description:
Send real, handwritten cards. Sealed, stamped and mailed–all from your iPad.
Use the Felt app to compose and send a handwritten card in the mail. The real mail. Just select one of our many original card designs, hand write a personal message, and address the envelope to a friend or loved one. We then professionally print your handwriting on premium Mohawk card stock, seal it in a kraft paper envelope, add the stamp and pop it in the mail.
Felt cards are only $3.99, including postage. It’s a whole lot of love sent from your iPad.
