TULSA — Quick thinking by a mailman and a young neighbor may have saved a Broken Arrow woman’s life Tuesday, and prevented a housefire from spreading to nearby homes.
Juan Rodriguez and his sister Estrella live across the street from the house that caught fire- he says he heard the smoke alarm, and looked across the street to see smoke pouring from around the garage door of the burning home.
The door came up, and he saw the female homeowner, surrounded by smoke and flames.
That’s when mailman Michael Mohr arrived on the scene.
He told KRMG he saw the woman climbing up on her car, and yelling about her dog.
He and Rodriguez each took an arm, helped her down from the car and out of the garage, and took her to the mail truck to sit down.
