The National Association of Letter Carriers’ latest eActivist Alert::
There’s a lot going on here in Washington this week. Here’s what you need to know:
Chairman Darrell Issa is holding a hearing tomorrow to discuss draft postal reform bills. Click here to read the NALC’s response to the Issa draft, and click here for our response to Rep. Elijah Cummings’ draft.
Issa has tentatively scheduled a mark-up of his bill for July 24, depending on how tomorrow’s hearing goes.
Also tomorrow, the bill containing the mandate for six-day mail delivery will be considered by the House Appropriations Committee. As you’ll recall, the six-day language was left intact last spring when the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Subcommittee approved its 2014 spending bill.
