The Postal Service will issue a new set of four high-denomination stamps in December.
USPS will issue its “Wave” stamps in $1, $2, $5 and $10 denominations. As the denominations increase, so do the sizes of the stamps.
The new stamps will lend a contemporary appearance to packages, large envelopes, and other mailings. Each stamp has been printed using a highly detailed process that creates dense, abstract patterns, similar to engraved bank currency.
“We were interested in using a visual language that suggested their status as high denomination issues — something that would communicate security and value,” said designer Michael Dyer. “So we began by looking at banknotes.”
Employees should direct customers who want to purchase large quantities of these or any other stamps to the Stamps Now program at 800-STAMP-24 (800-782-6724). Or, send an email to StampsNow.firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
