Four arrests over armed robbery at Notts post office

FOUR people have been arrested after a postmaster was threatened with a gun in a mid-morning robbery.Three men, aged 19, 24 and 26, and a 26-year-old woman were arrested in Nottingham on Thursday evening and in the early hours of Friday morning.Notts Police said they were in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit the robbery at the Trent Boulevard post office in Lady Bay on Wednesday.The force also said another man had been cautioned after failing to hand in money from the robbery which he found in the street.

Resident relief as mail boat service awarded

HAWKESBURY River postal services have steered back into smooth waters after the appointment of a new operator.

Hawkesbury Cruises has won a five-year contract from Australia Post to run the Riverboat Postman service, which delivers mail to about 350 residents living in river access only settlements.

The appointment follows turbulent times for the former operator, Hawkesbury River Tourist Services Pty Ltd, which went into liquidation in March.

Australia: Postal workers charged over stolen mail stash

Two postal workers have been charged with stealing mail at an Australia Post centre in inner Sydney.

Police started investigating the pair after arresting six people in Bondi last month who allegedly had thousands of stolen mail items.

The 60-year-old and 52-year-old were arrested at the Waterloo postal exchange on Thursday at about 6am (AEST).
