Ireland: Parcel2Go welcomes launch of Nightline ‘parcel motels’

IRELAND, Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — A new parcel delivery concept designed to allow consumers in Ireland ultimate flexibility in terms of how they collect and drop-off packages has been launched.

Irish courier firm Nightline has built 20 banks of specially-designed lockers across Dublin that will allow customers to pick up consignments and leave packages for delivery when it is most convenient. Bradley Wiggins became the most decorated and celebrated British Olympic athlete of all time with his gold medal ride in the Men’s Individual Time Trial. Royal Mail celebrated this with the creation and launch of his commemorative Gold Medal Stamp.

Stepping back in time with the postie bike

You can always tell when the postie is near, the familiar sound of those red motorbikes scooting up and down the footpath, so what is going to happen when our posties are riding push bikes?

Janeen Moulder from Australia Post in Mildura says that apart from having less of an impact on the environment, it’s a little easier to find people to deliver the mail.

Royal Mail will have available by lunchtime tomorrow a Gold Medal stamp to celebrate Bradley Wiggins’ gold medal win in the Men’s Cycling Individual Time Trial Final

This is the first time Royal Mail has issued two next day stamps in one day and follows the earlier Gold Medal win by Helen Glover and Heather Stanning in the Women’s Pair Rowing final.

The stamps will be on sale in over 500 Post Office branches across the UK from around lunchtime tomorrow. You can also find your nearest Gold Medal Stamp Stockist here.

A fleet of 90 Royal Mail vehicles will deliver the stamps across the UK to over 500 Post Offices to be on sale by lunchtime tomorrow.

Bradley won Gold less than two weeks after becoming the first British rider to triumph in the Tour de France. He is now Britain’s most decorated Olympian with seven medals, including four Gold.

Bradley’s stamps will be available tomorrow at the Post Office on Cleveland Street in Bradley’s home town of Chorley. Royal Mail will also paint a Post Box gold to celebrate his win.

‘Regular racist abuse’ found by internal Royal Mail probe

AN internal investigation by Royal Mail found there was ‘regular racist abuse’ at an East Lancashire sorting office for a number of years.

Ex-postie Abdul Musa, from Burnley, has won an estimated six-figure payout after being tormented by racist abuse and intimidation at Blackburn’s Canterbury Street sorting office.

But an employment tribunal, heard in Manchester, uncovered ‘widespread discrimination’, which management seemed powerless to prevent.
