Swiss Post and the French La Poste formed an alliance of their respective international mail activities on 6 July 2012, for which they have received all required regulatory approvals. The partners had announced their intention to establish the joint venture in December 2011. They are launching “ASENDIA by La Poste and Swiss Post”, a joint venture company equally owned by both partners, that aims to become the leader in B2C solutions for international mail. FRAMINGHAM, MA, July 9, 2012 – IDC Financial Insights today announced the results of the eighth annual Consumer Payments Survey, focused on the usage of emerging payment technologies. The new report, “Business Strategy: Results from the 2012 Consumer Payments Survey” (Document # FIN235594) found that mobile payments have more than doubled in popularity, reaching over 33% of survey respondents. Of those that had made a mobile payment, more than half used PayPal Mobile (56%), with Amazon Payments and Apple’s iTunes service statistically tied at about 40%. Two men hijacked a car in the Sandbank Cottages area of Shantallow and drove it to the post office on the Culmore Road.
The men threatened staff and robbed the safe of a sum of money.
The police and army bomb experts have been called to examine the vehicle which was abandoned on the Coney Road.
