Your right Larry a clerk’s job is not as physcial as a carrier.I started with the post office at 30 as a dual appointment, which ment I carriered a relief for 2 rural routes and when I finished that carriered city mail,then clerk work. Worked many a 10/12 hr day and Sunday morning and did so for 20 yrs. I am 5’2″ 120lbs so by the time I was 50 was pretty much wore out from a bag hanging on my shouldler,unloading mail and being on my feet all day. You see in an 18 office there is no certain job.
Have had 2 broken ankles,2 knees replaced,1 hip replaced, never damage in my left shoulder,arm and disc damage in my lower bad. So yes Larry I know a whole lot about pain.
Your also right in that all my back problems did not come from the clerk craft. Because of all the damage I had to give up my dual appointment and go to a 40 hr week window and office clerk. Last year they they did away with 1 of our full time clerk jobs and it happened to be mine as I had let Jr. clerk take over the stewards job so she would be prepared when I left. Now I only get to work 15-24 hours a week as a PTF. That’s ok though because I plan on retiring in June when I hit 65 or before it they do away with high 3 and go to high 5.
So you see Larry I have worked hard at work and at home as we also have a medium size farm/ranch operation;at least it is for Texas. Yes I would turn in any dopper or theft as I real don’t care to work around them. As far as my boss she is also a hard worker and helps both carriers and clerks when there is a need. Of the 3 PM’s I have worked under she is the best.

well marilynn, Its seems like i know justy who you are. you live in texas, vote red neck i bet and i work in a level 18 office and work outdoors unloading trucks and I showel the snow so i can unload those trucks when at 5 am and the building opens it seems that all those bosses do not give a crap what i do. so do not lecture me. having hips replaced 4 times and 3 spine surgeries sounds to me like because you are small you could not even handle the little work that you did. What makes me mad is your attitude about ratting out other co workers. sounds to me i hit the nail on the head.
