Mail truck catches fire in downtown Jackson TN

JACKSON TN — A U.S. Postal Service mail delivery truck caught fire Wednesday afternoon in downtown Jackson. It is not yet clear what caused the blaze. No injures were reported.

The mail carrier was on his way back to the post office at the end of his route and had finished his deliveries, according to a postal supervisor on scene.

The only mail in the truck at the time was what the carrier had picked up on the route, and he was able to safely get it out of the truck, according to the supervisor.

Wisconsin: Fire destroys LLV, ignites field

A postal truck went up in flames in a Windsor neighborhood early this afternoon, igniting a nearby field before being extinguished.

The driver was not injured in the fire, but the postal truck was a complete loss. The grass fire was contained and there was no damage to private property.

The fire occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on Forest Park Dr. between Longfellow Ct. and Great Bridge Dr. in the Revere Trails development.

Jon Yaskel, of DeForest Area Fire & EMS, said that a call went out for a vehicle fire and that county sheriffs, who were on scene, notified them that the fire had spread to a nearby field.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -Folks in a Tyler neighborhood will be missing some mail Tuesday, after a mail truck caught fire.

The fire happened around noon in the 1800 block of Holly Lake Circle.

“When we arrived, the fire was fully involved and we extinguished the fire,” said Captain George Fletcher with the Tyler Fire Department,

Fire officials say the call came in at 12:20 p.m. “I saw smoke out of the dining room window. I came outside and our mail carrier’s truck was on fire,” said resident Debbie Brewer., Longview, Jacksonville, Texas | ETX News

Video: Another LLV catches fire in Wisconsin

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Firefighters responded to Theater Road in Onalaska where a U.S. Postal Service truck that caught fire on Monday afternoon. Onalaska firefighters told News 8 no one was injured in the fire. Some bystanders helped save the mail from burning. The call came in at about 3:45 p.m.

USPS truck burns in Manitowoc, some mail destroyed

Some letters and packages may not reach their destination after a fire destroyed a mail truck in Manitowoc.

At about 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, a United States Postal Service delivery vehicle caught on fire while the letter carrier was driving on Victoria Drive off Wisconsin 42.

“There was a loud explosion, and then flames started shooting out of (the vehicle),” Officer in Charge Roy Stobl said.

The carrier wasn’t injured, but some mail set to be delivered to customers and some outgoing mail was damaged or destroyed in the blaze.

LLV bursts into flames in Arizona

PHOENIX (KPHO/KTVK) -A mail truck caught on fire near Anthem Thursday afternoon, blocking a northbound off-ramp on I-17.It happened around 3:30 p.m., and the Anthem ramp was shut down for a short time.

Peter Hass, a spokesman for the U.S. Post Office in Phoenix, tells us that no mail was lost in the fire.

The driver was not hurt.

Fire engulfs mail truck in Washington state

Another LLV has gone up in flames, this time in southern Washington state:

The female United States Postal Service worker was driving along her route north of Battle Ground when she noticed smoke coming from the hood of the vehicle, said Clark County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Mike Jackson.

She pulled over in the 31000 block of Northeast 95th Avenue and called 911 before getting all of the mail out of the truck.

“So, there was no mail damaged or destroyed,” said Peter Hass, spokesman for the USPS.

The LLV was destroyed.
