USPS Searching for Woman’s Ashes Amid Delayed Holiday Packages

Update: On Sunday afternoon, Craig informed Sofastaii that her mom’s remains were finally delivered. The box was damaged, but the contents were intact.

BALTIMORE — USPS customers continue to report missing packages, gifts, bills, and important documents including paychecks.

Kimberly Craig had been waiting a month for an irreplaceable item. On December 8, her mother’s cremated remains were mailed from Michigan, but 10 days later, tracking history stopped updating.

“She goes from Michigan to D.C. and now they can’t find her. Like she got scanned into D.C. and then that was it,” said Craig.

WMAR-2 News Mallory Sofastaii helped Craig get in contact with a USPS representative.

“He was hoping that it would’ve gotten scanned in by now, but they’re not actually looking for it, they’re just waiting for it to be scanned in,” said Craig.

On Sunday afternoon, Craig informed Sofastaii that her mom’s remains were finally delivered. The box was damaged, but the contents were in tact.
