BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Not everyone had a snow day Wednesday.
While there was a lot of focus on clearing the roads, the sidewalks present the biggest challenge for postal workers and delivery personnel.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, cars driven by members of U.S.P.S. don’t have four-wheel drive.
Postal workers appreciate anyone who braves the cold to give them a hand, by clearing up sidewalks and walkways.
“Snow turns to ice and we we, you know, would like to get them their packages and their mail,” said Frank Romero, a postal carrier. “I wish something could be done to get those homeowners and landlords to take care of their properties. Take care of those walks for us and you will get your mail.”
