Post Office Pays Bill After Car Towed From Parking Lot in Storm

BRIGHTON, Mo. — A Polk County woman found her car towed after parking at a United States Post Office during Sunday’s winter storm.

Emily Lansche says dangerous road conditions forced her to leave her vehicle there. “As soon as I turned into 215, my car immediately skidded. And I realized it wasn’t going to make it down the hill there,” said Lansche.

So she pulled into the Brighton Post Office parking lot.

“I thought a community space in such a small town would probably be the easiest place to leave it,” she said. The local Post Office was closed Sunday and when she returned Monday afternoon her car was gone. “I was shocked,” Lansche said.
