Trump says USPS getting “poorer and dumber” while making Amazon rich

What with his dismal approval ratings, Russia investigation and alleged record of sexual assault and child molestation, you’d think Donald Trump would have enough on his plate.

But you’d be wrong- now he’s ranting about the post office:

    amen

  • Judy McDaniel Keeton

say what you will, but what he says is not wrong.

  • Sheila McNally

He should know that they are restricted by law on what they can charge and it has to be proven to the board of governors

The real reason USPS is losing money. Under PAEA, USPS was forced to “prefund its future health care benefit
payments to retirees for the next 75 years in an astonishing ten-year
time span” — meaning that it had to put aside billions of dollars to pay
for the health benefits of employees it hasn’t even hired yet, something “that no other government or private corporation is required to do.

It’s not right, either. How can The Donald tout stock market gains (ie. Amazon’s phenom. success) and bash the USPS which is limited by Congress on how much it can raise postal rates?

  • BentDemocrat

    How soon they forget eh?

  • BentDemocrat

It has to be approved by Congress too.

  • postalnews

Congress has nothing to do with USPS pricing.

  • Howard Richman

Not hired yet? Not born yet !!!!!

  • Robin Campbell

He is correct, the USPS is not charging Amazon enough, it has nothing to do with Congress. They cut a deal with Amazon charging them next to nothing to ship packages, so they could get the contract away from UPS, and now they are losing money on these parcels.

  • Robin Campbell

Wrong, that only applies to the cost of postage you and I would purchase, for example stamps. The Postal service cut a deal with Amazon, charging them next to nothing to ship their parcel, in order to get the contract away from UPS. This falls on the Postal service not Congress.

Amazon’s deal with the USPS cuts out most of the expense of shipping. They deliver all of their packages to each post office using their own private contractors. So each post office scans and sorts it to each mail carrier, then they scan and deliver it. If Amazon shipped each parcel like we do over the counter, the USPS would make a lot more money, but they would be crushed sorting the volume and shipping it from point A to point B. Amazon is eliminating all of those steps. Hence the deal. If anything, Amazon is keeping the USPS in business. They should takeover the USPS and make it better. The only company that can afford to do so.

So congress can rob that account like they borrowed from SS

you starting statement alleged child molestation is a total lie get it right and do not fake garbage out there

UPDATE: After BuzzFeed News published this story, we heard from a fifth contestant who remembered Trump visiting the dressing room.

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant said Donald Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.

“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” said Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA.

Trump, she recalled, said something like, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.”

Three other women, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of getting engulfed in a media firestorm, also remembered Trump entering the dressing room while girls were changing. Two of them said the girls rushed to cover their bodies, with one calling it “shocking” and “creepy.”

Child molestation? Thats an outrageous stretch of the truth. Not all postal workers are liberal Democrats. Some actually respect our boss. Maybe a little criticism and self examination would help the Post Office. Sometimes you have to be blunt.

  • postalnews

You’re right of course- not all postal workers are liberal Democrats, sadly! Fortunately, though, they’re also not all racist bigots who support sex offenders like Donald Trump and Roy Moore.

Blunt enough for you? Oh, and by the way- respect is earned, not a perk of coming in second in an election. Trump has not earned anyone’s respect and deserves none.

  • Jack Spencer

And fortuitously also. not all are closed minded idiots who have lost any objectivity they might have had. With that, I will disregard anything further you have to say, so don’t even bother.

  • teapartypatriot

Another cry baby liberal with more false accusations and no proof. But you don’t need proof for other brain dead liberals to believe you do you?

  • teapartypatriot

You’re an idiot. Only the stupid postal workers are liberal democrats. They are the same ones that watch everyone else work while they draw a check for doing nothing. You’re a typical liberal. You have nothing to say that has facts to back it up so you just call everyone a racist. Look in the mirror. You’re the definition of a sore loser and a cry baby.

  • teapartypatriot

That is a fact. We are paying health care for postal workers that are not even born yet.
