One day in prison for South Carolina APWU official who stole from union

On March 22, 2017, in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, Sharon Holmes, former Secretary-Treasurer of American Postal Workers Union (APWU) Local 807 (located in Columbia, S.C.), was sentenced to one day of imprisonment and 18 months of supervised release.  Holmes was also ordered pay restitution in the amount of $101,987 and a $100 assessment.  On March 15, 2016, Holmes pled guilty to one count of embezzling union funds in the amount of $41,823, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 50
