A woman died in a duplex fire in northwest Oklahoma City on Friday, and a mail carrier working his route is credited with saving the life of another woman who got out safely.
Just after 9 a.m., firefighters were sent to the wood-frame duplex and found the victim at 1805 NW 9. Her name was not released on Friday.
Reggie Sloan, 44, of Oklahoma City, was delivering mail when he saw smoke and yelled at a neighbor to call 911. He approached the burning house, but said there was too much smoke to reach the door of the unit where the woman died.
