There’s been another post office break in, this time on the North Shore.
It’s the latest in a string of thefts as post office boxes in Kahuku were broken into Wednesday night. Weeks ago, break-ins were reported at post offices in Waianae, Nanakuli and Haleiwa.
Laie resident Ken Macatiaj purchased his P.O. box 10 years ago. “A mailbox outside your home? You never know, someone could come by and easily access it. Having a P.O. box, we have that sort of assurance our mail is secure,” he explained.
But because of recent break-ins, Magatiaj isn’t so sure. “There’s no bounds now. They’re breaking into anything they could get.”
