NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An East Nashville post office hasn’t had air conditioning for three weeks.
Last Wednesday, an employee passed out inside the building, but the unit still hasn’t been replaced.
Now, customers and employees are complaining about the intolerable heat.
“For the few minutes I was inside, I felt like I was in a furnace,” said customer Natasha Lane-Cotton. “I was profusely sweating, uncomfortable.”
A United States Postal Service (USPS) spokesperson said the air conditioning unit went out at 1109 Woodland Street three weeks ago, and they sent a maintenance person to investigate.
When the maintenance person discovered it couldn’t be fixed, USPS ordered a new one, but it hasn’t come in yet. The spokesperson said they have no idea when the unit will.
