USPS manager saves rural carrier’s life

Customer Services Manager Shane McLaughlin was recently helping a supervisor at a Post Office in the Omaha, NE, area resolve an issue when a life-threatening problem arose: A rural carrier in the building was choking.

heimlich4_xp-blog427McLaughlin called 911 and performed the Heimlich maneuver until the obstructing food item was dislodged.

The rural carrier recovered.“We are sincerely thankful that Shane acted quickly to save a fellow employee’s life,” said Omaha Postmaster Keith Reid.
