Tennessee: Suspect in postal theft arraigned

A Rockwood man made his first appearance in Cumberland County Criminal Court last week after being indicted by the grand jury on charges relating to thefts from the U.S Postal Service.

Trenton Lloyd Dunlap, 32, 513 Hillside Rd., Rockwood, appeared for arraignment Wednesday on charges of theft of property of more than $1,000, theft of property of $500 and official misconduct.

uspsoigAll are felony charges.The indictment accuses Dunlap of between Aug. 1, 2014, and July 31, 2015, of taking more than $1,000 from the U.S. Postal Service. The second count accuses him of taking cash of up to $500 from a citizen and the third count claims these incidents constituted official misconduct because of his position.

The cases were investigated by Special Agents Margaret Busbee, Jeanna Koivula and Art Stevens of the Office of the Inspector General.
