Feds: Money for fight against Muscular Dystrophy embezzled by postal worker

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – A postal employee is accused of embezzling an estimated $9,000 that had been earmarked for the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.

US-Department-Of-Justi_fmtFelony information filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court accuses Brian T. Cisek of embezzlement and theft of union funds from a Grand Rapids postal employee labor organization; money that was designated for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Grand Rapids letter carrier is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Grand Rapids federal court on Aug. 25.

The money went missing during his tenure as chair of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Committee for the Grand Rapids branch of the National Association of Letter Carriers, court records show.
