Mail strike in second week in Waterloo, Crosby

From the Liverpool Echo:

THE Royal Mail said it is doing all it can to deliver post in Waterloo and Crosby as a strike by workers continued into a second week.

People living in the L22, L23 and L29 postal codes have suffered from late or non-existent deliveries since Tuesday after a walk-out by staff.

It appears the strike, by members of the Communication Workers Union, has not been officially balloted, making the industrial action illegal.

Mail collections are continuing.

Just had a call from Royal Hospital to say I’ve missed my appointment today. Appointment letter not received. Have not had any mail for a week now. There must be many others in Waterloo and Crosby missing appointments. Can a striking postal worker explain why they are on strike.

We have not had any mail since last Monday, I rang Waterloo sorting office yesterday and was told if my husband took I.d we could have our mail. My husband took I.d and was told there was no mail for us. I know there is mail waiting to be delivered to us as I am definitely waiting on 3 letters that were sent last week. No happy.
