Cops: 3 charged in USPS money order thefts

Three men were arrested after stealing money orders from the U.S. Postal Service, part of an investigation that began in Maryland, authorities said Wednesday.

inspectorMoney orders were stolen in December from the inventory at a U.S. Postal Service location in Baltimore, Nassau police said, and a joint investigation with the Maryland postal inspector led to banks on Long Island.

The banks reported a total loss of $12,000, police said.

Authorities on March 24 arrested two Brooklyn men, Bryant Felder, 27, and Tyrie Barnes, 28, both of St. Johns Place. On Wednesday, they arrested Joseph Singleton, 23, of Queens Avenue in Elmont.
