USPS shutting down in DC area due to blizzard warnings

The US Postal Service is shutting down operations in the Washington DC area as a major winter storm approaches. Some facilities in North Carolina have already suspended operations:

  • Baltimore
    Operations will be suspended at 2 p.m. in the Baltimore area. Impacted three-digit ZIP Code areas include 210-219 and 254.
  • Washington, DC, and Southern Maryland
    Collection from collection boxes will be completed today by 3 p.m. All Post Offices, stations and branches in the Washington, DC, metro area will be closing between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. This includes all plants and bulk mail acceptance units. Impacted three-digit ZIP Code areas include 200-209.
  • North Carolina
    With the exception of the Rocky Mount plant, all operations have been suspended in the Greensboro area, including Greensboro P&DC, Greensboro NDC and Raleigh P&DC plants. Impacted three-digit ZIP Code areas include 270-277 and 286.
