Video: New Jersey Woman Grateful For Postal Worker’s Life Saving Heroics

As CBS2’s Christine Sloan reported, it was a way to say “thank you” for saving her father’s life.

“I love this guy. He’s family,” Dianne Cook-Rock said.

A life was saved because they crossed paths when they weren’t supposed to.

“I believe it was God making sure I was at the right place at the right time,” Garfield Scott said.

Scott, a postal worker, was delivering mail earlier than usual when Cook-Rock was screaming for help.

I’m so very proud of my husband and thankful that he did what God would have wanted him to do. He’s my hero and a very humble man who most people never knew about his past career.
We also want to thank East Orange, NJ Postmaster Betty Banks for all she does. Without her none of the recognition given to Garfield would have happened. Garfield and all the employees are blessed to call her boss!
