Ohio CCA saves customer’s home from smoke damage

Massillon, OH, City Carrier Assistant Michelle Everhart was delivering mail recently when she smelled smoke and heard a detector inside a house.

When nobody answered the door, Everhart called 911. Firefighters quickly arrived and determined the customer had left home after forgetting about a boiling pan of eggs on the stove.

Firefighters credited Everhart with saving the customer’s residence from severe smoke damage.
