Update: Pedestrian struck by USPS vehicle in El Paso has died

Update: KFOX reports that the woman who was struck by the USPS vehicle has died:

EL PASO, Texas –

A woman who was hit by a U.S. Postal Service truck in Downtown El Paso on Wednesday afternoon died from her injuries.

Susana Nuñez-Figueroa, 91, was crossing Oregon Street at a crosswalk when she was hit a by a mail truck driven by 29-year-old William Grizzard, police said.

Grizzard told police he did not see the woman, who ended up pinned underneath the truck.

EL PASO, Texas – The status of a woman hit by a U.S. postal truck is still unknown.A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in downtown El Paso. It happened Wednesday around 3 p.m. at E. San Antonio and Oregon streets.

A witness said he heard a screeching of tires and then a loud bang.

“Her legs were underneath the left front tire of the truck from the torso down, and she was in a laying position,” said a witness.
