Video: Missouri mailman saves 96-year-old woman

BELTON, Mo. — A mailman and his concern may have recently saved the life of a 96-year-old Belton woman.

An elderly woman fell in her home and was unable to call for help. Chris Feldhaus, who has been a mailman for 15 years, noticed her mail piling up and decided to check on her.

He tried knocking on her door; no one answered. So he went to the property manager who called police.

“She had fallen, and they don`t know how long she had been there, but it had been a least a couple days,” Feldhaus adds. “She`s in her mid-90s, so she was unable to get up and get anything to eat or drink or even get the phone.”

The elderly woman is recovering in a nearby hospital.

I just wanted to say thank you for saving my great grandma! Because of you we have been blessed to spend these last few days with her! If you hadn’t noticed she would have most likely died there alone. We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to inform someone of your concerns. You are this family’s Angel!

    Sincerely,
    Tia Barney
    Great granddaughter of Mrs C.
