USPS announces prequalified suppliers for Next Generation Delivery Vehicle

The US Postal Service has named 15 “pre-qualified” suppliers for its proposed Next Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV). The companies that made the cut include auto giants Ford, Chrysler and Nissan, along with defense contractor AM General, Indian multinational Mahindra, LLV body manufacturer Utilimaster, and AMP Electric Vehicles. Missing from the list so far is General Motors, manufacturer of the LLV chassis and drivetrain, which has expressed interest in the NGDV contract.
