Proposed consolidation of NAPUS and the League moves forward

From NAPUS:

The proposed consolidation of NAPUS and the League of Postmasters has progressed to written submission of Chapter Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation and National Bylaws for the new organization. The documents are the results of discussion, collaboration and compromise by the committee working on the consolidation. Representing NAPUS on the committee was National Secretary Treasurer, Dan Heins, from MN and retired Postmaster and National Parliamentarian John Galera, from HI. Representing the League of Postmasters was retired Postmaster, Jack Jameson, from NC and retired Postmaster, John Olson, from MN.

The new proposed organization will be incorporated as a non-profit organization and shall be known as the “Postmasters and Managers of America” (PMA).

The proposed Chapter By Law provide a template for the state chapters to use to ensure compliance with new national bylaws and consistency with between state chapters.

The proposed Articles of Incorporation define purpose of PMA, as well as new member classifications.

The proposed national Bylaws provide information on dues, Executive Boards and their duties, conventions and committees.

Extensive discussion of the proposed consolidation of the organizations will be held at our Leadership Conference in March. The vote for consolidation will be held at each organization’s national conventions to be held later this year.

So instead of wasting the time consolidating the Postmaster organizations, why don’t they spend some time negotiating with NAPS to join all three organizations together.

I was an OIC once, and became an associate member of both organizations for awhile, figuring I might become postmaster sometime. I was offered a PM job, but reconsidered and stuck with being a clerk, and I am now glad I did. I got tired of getting mailings and magazines from both organizations, and all I saw were too many photos of postmasters having fun at conventions, and I realized that is all these people do. Now that postmasters are pretty much extinct, what good will merging their “unions” do, when there are too few members. The former PMRs will now be PSEs, and will instead joing the APWU if they have any sense.

Because we are superior and we are managers, supervisors are not,so we will never be part of NAPS.

What’s the use in having unions for EAS level employees when they don’t collective bargain and upper management has always taken care of them and they don’t have worry about being RIF’d and having their pay and benefits cut as craft employees have had to since Downahole became PMG.

    Your an Idiot!!

Yes, in my daydreams I get tired of all the conventions and parties I have to go to all the time too. It’s so annoying. Then my supervisor snaps me back into reality, and I do another pivot. Usually on OT. SMH. LOL.
