Royal Mail ‘scaremongering’ over rural deliveries rubbished by regulators

Royal Mail’s stark warning that its same-price postal service is under threat were rubbished by regulators today.

Ofcom said the postal firm’s legal obligation to deliver letters anywhere in the country for the same price was not being undermined from rival online companies.

It revealed it would not impose new conditions on Royal Mail’s competitors like Amazon and TNT, in a blow to the postal service.
