OKLAHOMA CITY –
Rain, heat or snow won’t stop them, and for one metro mail carrier, neither will a knife, after she is stabbed but then continues on her delivery route near N.W. 122nd and May.
“She’s new to this route,” said one resident. “She’s been on it maybe a month.”
Not long on the job, but she had her work cut out for her when she walked up to a house to deliver mail and was met on the porch by Bennie Joe Edwards, Sr., who police say stabbed her in the back with a paring knife.
“I saw her moving her bag and screaming in terror, because she was scared,” said witness, Jocelyn Bell. “I saw this thin black man out in his yard, and he was coming at her, and she kept pushing her bag.”
