A thoughtful and important discussion that should be read by anyone who cares about what happens to the Postal Service. The current rush to answers by the new PMG and the failure of Congress to step up and have a real discussion leave us with the likelihood that many of our options will be foreclosed before they can be properly considered.
The OIG should be commended for this report, just as the PRC should be applauded for its efforts to keep important aspects of the discussion before the public. At the moment these are the only two institutions or stakeholders that are functioning with any degree of integrity – that includes management, the employee organizations and unions, the mailing industry and the press.
