Canada Post: 48-Hour Strike in Red Deer to Begin TonightFriday, June 10th, 2011
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced that the Red Deer, Alta. local will begin a 48-hour strike as of 11 p.m. EDT. This disruption will have a minimal impact on our local operations and mail delivery will resume on Monday.
Meanwhile, the 24-hour strikes by CUPW locals in Quebec City and Kitchener are expected to end tonight, with both areas quickly returning to normal operations.
We understand that there is a lot of uncertainty right now, and that the strike activities being undertaken by CUPW are difficult for customers.
Unless further activity occurs or is anticipated, we will not be issuing any further alerts until Sunday.
